Really dug deep to get a good accounting review again. 1) Start from the accounting equation (assets = liabilities + equity). 2) Think of every business’s balance sheet (where they keep assets and liabilities) as an accounting equation. 3) Now think of the accounting equation as a big T. 4) Assets on the LH side. Liabilities and Equities on the RH side. 5) Recording things on the LH side is diff from the RH side. Debits is on the left and Credits on the right. 6) Every accounting item falls under either Assets (LH) or Liabilities and Equity (RH). |
