| Finger Drumming.Recently made my first qwerty drum rack and only afterwards I thought oh I didn't need to save those 128's into the rack.How easy something so small like that could perturb me.Seems wasteful,but now it's whatever.Pasted in an ergonomically spaced layout for my hands for the casio.The hell with the empty keys.Maybe I'll save some wrist.What would I rather have a worn out wrist and every key on one insignificant key layout filled or a better wrist and a few empty keys.I'd like to think I'm getting a little better at knowing when to keep the blinders on and when to look around.Maybe I can work in a few short finger drum sessions a week or more.I think I can even work in three toms in case I learn to play them. | |

Cleaning up the thumb drive before DAW time turns into DAW time,being as it is as clean as it's going to get for now,I didn't get back onto the mind track I was in with arrangement and timers.I'm still reeling from that ass beating norah jones gave me.Her and her mackin ass song writing skills,how dare she... O.K what did I learn or actually utilize? 1 time referencing anything with any real feeling of control:The kick sounded reasonable referenced against a kick that a total bad ass made. I gated air for the first time onto a kick... Did some review on some file management concepts (I wanted to render it and know where it went if and why there would be doubles and why do my files sometimes say corrupt.) not sure what else... Hey,not bad,i live to DAW again.I love ableton.. |

| Can't quite make a proper timer yet.Spent a few hours programming drum patterns into a Norah Jones song (over)timer.I picked a Norah Jones song because I don't listen to Norah Jones.Iv'e been doing other things so I haven't finished working on another arrangement exercise.Trying to walk that fine line between making a proper timer that I'm not overattached to and programming a bunch of audible information into the DAW that I find to be absolutely unacceptable.I sort of reasoned to myself I would entertain a bit of arrangement in the meantime by mirroring the the arrangement of her actual song.Though the quick aspect had pretty much dissolved I busted out a kazoo that I borrowed and managed to make an intro,verse,bridge?,prechorus,chorus,and deviations of those.I spent the afternoon programming drum patterns into that.I'm trying to absorb the workflow so it will be interesting doing any more work on it while trying to not get too attached.I want the xp.I'm going to shelf it and try a new timer soon.Feeling unsatisfied with my results would be to be ignorant to the fact that norah jones is a beast,in terms of artistic drive.A beast that's very easy on the eyes..... | |
