It is going excellently, thanks to my bestie. :) I feel like I could confidently travel without English in around a year of doing this. :D I am so happy. |

I haven't been practicing at all - so I will undertake a renewed commitment to practice each day at 7pm with Zaynab - it may help to remind myself that she will be going back to Iraq in 2020, and so it is important to spend time talking with her as much as I can before she leaves. |

So far, I have only casually practiced Arabic with the Yazidis. I just messaged Zaynab to ask if we can practice tonight. I need to take more responsibility for doing it on my own, as other people have their own lives and are consequently not reliable.
Supportive sub-goals:
- Do not stay too late at the gym after uni (i.e. practice Arabic at 7pm)
- Do not arrange to do social things in the evenings (because you will miss Arabic)
- Do not go on social media at 7pm - it must be blocked because this is practice time
- Create a physical reminder - keep Arabic books right next to your desk, on the shelf, at eye level. Put a reminder up on your wall.
- Decide on a rewards system - for one week straight of Arabic practice, put a mark on a calendar. Maybe after four of these, you can spend a certain amount of time on an electronics project. |
