IF I DON'T FOLLOWTHROUGH ON THIS COMMITMENT, I *WILL* OWN UP TO THAT AND PAY THE $40. Here's why... I have such a good life. I'm so grateful to the God who GAVE it to me! I've worked so hard to build so many good things in it. And so many people DEPEND on me, believe in me, root for me, count on me, Donnie and Nicholas most of all. I don't GET to just blithely take the wrong course. I'm too important to others for that. My LIFE is too important to others for that--to the Church, to my friends, to my sons. HAVING to pay $40, to _whomever_, is a *ridiculously* small price for staying on the course to following through for all those I love, all those I can benefit, and all those who believe in me and count on me. Therefore, I *HAVE* to--I will MAKE myself have to. If I had a frivolous life, it wouldn't matter so much. But I have a life that MEANS so much to me, and to others and FOR others. Going off course is not a luxury I have, not a luxury my LIFE can *afford*. So I can certainly afford $40 a week, every single week of my life, to ensure that I stay the course and do not let my friends, my loved ones, and my beneficiaries down, _to ensure that I do for them what I can do_, that I GIVE to them what I CAN give in this one life on earth that I have. |
