Week 12 of 12
sue commits to:
I will work 1-3 hours a week on the Rico and Zane story. By the end of 3 weeks, it will be in a good enough place to show a couple trusted friends. By the end of 6, I will have integrated feedback and decide where to submit it. By week 8 I will probably be paralyzed with fear of rejection so I just need to build in some time for that. By week 10 I will identify possible publishers or editors or someone in the biz to approach. By week 12 I will have approached at least 1.

| discussed revised version and possible titles with Anne and Herb and made suggested small changes -- still puzzling over one section but will work on that this week and will also draft an email to Kate DiCamillo. | |

| Made another two or three runs through and it feels like it's what it's supposed to be! Next week, will send to friend who can help with grade-level and audience and work on sentence length and word choice as needed. | |

thwarty week. Central lib did not have Griffin Press books on shelf as they should've, and unable to mesh different people's very different comments. but i concluded 3 things on the substantive editing, which i can address this week: add a couple paragraphs on Zane and one or two more on us humans' thought process in getting the cats, and then rename them Beach and Barn cat. That's it for the substantive editing. Week after next I'll run a language-level analysis and get the Griffin Press books, and also look for a press that does more Gorey-style adult-friendly works for kids. |
