Week 5
I'm calling this week a success, since I did everything I could when I wasn't in bed with a migrane or traveling to the ACTFL conference at Denver.
So, I didn't get everything I dreamed of done for this 5 week goal, but I did put in the time I had committed to. I have stayed caught up on grading and planning better these five weeks than ever in my career. If I can keep breaking my work into chunks like this, and holding myself accountable, I'll really feel in control by the end of the year. |

Week 4
Sun. Nov. 13 - no work, bad migraine
Sat. Nov. 12 - relaxed
Fri. Nov. 11 - I know I worked, I don't remember how much. I met with Lauren to work on Swim, and had dorm duty.
Thurs. Nov. 10 - 3 hours I guess. I had a Dr.'s appointment in the afternoon, and met with advisees in the evening to start drafting reports.
Wed. Nov. 9 - 2 hours grading and writing emails
Tues. Nov. 8 - 4 hrs grading, writing emails, and making a Dr.'s appt.
Mon. Nov. 7 - 3 hours grading, emailing advisee parents, and working on job search
So, I don't have 15 hrs. recorded, partly because I don't remember what I did some days, partly because I was feeling bad this weekend, but I'm letting myself slide by with that this week. |

Week 3
Sun. Nov. 6 - 3ish hrs.(completed Wheeler study proofreading)
Sat. Nov. 5 - 3 hrs. (created power point for French 3, emailed M. Melin)
Fri. Nov. 4 - break
Thurs. Nov. 3 - 3 hrs. (checking up on advisees and drafting reports, grading)
Wed. Nov. 2 - I worked, a lot, I can't remember what I did.
Tues. Nov. 1 - 6 hrs. (no classes this day, cleaned out my email in box, filed papers)
Mon. Oct. 31 - 3 hrs. preparing French 1 & French 3 calendars for this semester and next
Once again I've put in more than the hours I planned, but haven't finished what I set out to do. I'm making good progress though, and my life is feeling more in control than it used to. |

Week 2 (Oct. 24-30)
Sun., Oct. 30 - Major power outage, didn't work.
Sat., Oct. 29 - every girl needs a break now and then
Fri., Oct. 28 - spent my extra time tutoring, preping and subbing for a yoga clas, and meditating on choices that could greatly impact my future.
Thurs., Oct. 27 - 1 hr. of grading during dorm duty
Wed., Oct. 26 - 3 hrs. grading, translating introductions for the French orchestra concert, and prepping a reading lesson
Tues., Oct. 25 - 6 hrs. exchanging plane tickets for a conference, email advisee parents, preping French orchestra concert introductions
Mon., Oct. 24 - 3 hrs. grading and answering emails
I didn't do quite 15 hours of self-directed work, and I haven't met the bench marks for this week. However, part of that is because of the vast power outages this weekend. Now that we have power back, and school is still canceled, I should be able to catch up. So I'm calling this a success, but I have to be caught up on my benchmark goals by this Friday. That means organizing all my files, drafting exams for this semester and homework calendars for next. |
