I’ve set goals in the past focusing on consumption. I realize now I’ve been approaching it wrong. It’s not a consumption issue. It’s an accessibility one. The greatest lengths of time I’ve spent on those platforms have come via my phone or iPad. Not my home computer, not the library computer. Going to test this hypothesis and cut out phone/iPad access for 90 days. I believe it will markedly improve my efficiency at work and my ability to accomplish my other daily goals.

| Been struggling. Just wasted a lot of my workday going down the YouTube rabbit hole. It’s just so silly. One minute you’re just going to check the news real quick, the next it’s interviews and before long you’re watching the raid of telephone scammers in india and 4 hours have passed. It’s literally watching other people’s lives take place as yours passes right by. Time for a recommitment. | |

| Been struggling to keep it up daily but this has been a success nonetheless because even while I’m struggling its above and beyond the level I was on when using these platforms daily | |

| I’ve had MUCH more success and felt it WAY easier to avoid these platforms with this method. I feel like instead of cutting off the news and youtube completely, (and having to battle not touching it on my phone)the fact that I know I can have it later when I get home, if I choose to, relieves half the mental battle and has led me to actually see it as time wasting because once I’m home there are other things I want to do and if I want to go on the news or youtube, at that point it’s going to have to be at the exclusion of the other things I want to do | |
