When I tell kids to do something or they are acting up I need to stop and follow through. I can write a reminder to finish up laundry or come back to it later. It is not time critical. Do not let kids climb on me or interrupt on phone. Bright spots: did better at bedtime and did yoga without Jack touching me (sent him to his room) Clone it: focus on kids first Specific behaviors: stop what I’m doing even if I fear I might forget to do it again unless it is mission essential. Kids first. Find the feeling: disappointed, pessimistic, scared Shrink the change: I will not continue to do things after doing the minimum. I will wait around in case further action is needed |
